About us

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Mother is a Dublin-born queer club night for disco-loving gays and their friends, first conceived in June 2010. Built on the belief that the dance floor is a place of joy, community, and liberation, Mother has grown from a weekly club into a defining force in Irish LGBTQ+ nightlife and culture.

Over the past decade and a half, Mother has become an institution of Dublin after-dark, raising the bar for queer club culture while creating unforgettable moments at some of Ireland’s biggest festivals, including Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, and our own large-scale production celebrating Pride in the city each June, Mother Pride Block Party.

Now based at our home in Lost Lane on Grafton Street, Mother continues to evolve, hosting a packed calendar of events throughout the year;  from our beloved weekly Saturday club to our high-energy Bank Holiday Sunday parties. Outside of Lost Lane, we host much-loved Daytime Dance Parties, Imbolc and Halloween celebrations.

Across our club nights and festival stages, Mother has welcomed a dazzling roster of artists, icons, and trailblazers. Past performers include Trixie Mattell, Blessed Madonna, Anitta, Rina Sawayama, Lily Allen, Kelis, Scissor Sisters (Ana Matronic & Jake Shears), Honey Dijon, Clean Bandit, Loreen, MØ, The Magician, Crazy P, Aeroplane, Nancy Wang (LCD Soundsystem), Little Boots, Rory Phillips, Alex Metric, Jacques Renault, Shit Robot, Optimo, Daithí, Le Galaxie and many more.

We have also been honoured to support some of our biggest idols, including Peaches and the incomparable Grace Jones.

Through it all, the mission remains unchanged: to create queer spaces filled with music, freedom, and connection, places where people can dance, be themselves, and feel at home.
